Greenville Federal Credit Union and The Greenville News announced Bill Brightman as the December, 2020 “Community Hero” honoree. Brightman, a U.S. Navy veteran, is recognized for founding Service Dogs for Veterans (external link), which provides service dogs to disabled military veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injury, and/or military sexual trauma.

The credit union is pleased to recognize Bill Brightman for his significant efforts to help more than 66 local disabled veterans find purpose, confidence and support through his program, Service Dogs for Veterans. Brightman will be recognized at the next public in-person Greenville County Council meeting where the credit union will present him with a certificate and gift of appreciation.
