Yield-Plus Checking is a free interest-bearing account (with E-Statement enrollment) that requires an initial deposit and minimum balance of $2,000. It has no monthly service charges, even when a minimum balance is not maintained (it earns the Regular Share Checking rate when the balance falls below the minimum), no per-check charges, and offers direct deposit and payroll deduction.  See current rates.
